Marked by a squat lighthouse and a gnarled 800-year-old pohutukawa tree, Cape Reinga is the northernmost point of New Zealand that’s open to the public, and the site where the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea come together. The area is popular for its coastal views, which you can enjoy from a series of windswept nature walks.

What are people saying about Cape Reinga

David_H, Oct 2022
Save half a days travel - fly !
Best way to get to Cape Reinga and all in half a day. The flight is an experience with fabulous views on both east and west coasts.

The driver and pilot...
The driver and pilot where lovely and the pilot had loads of interesting things to share along the way. It's a really packed day and unfortunately it felt a bit rushed between flights. As nice as the stop at the beach to have coffee was there wasn't really time to enjoy it. But it really is great value for money! The dine surfing is such a great addition to the experience. Over all one of the most amazing things I've ever done and totally worth the money!

Must Do Tour!
If I could recommend any tour this is the one! If I could give it more than five stars I would! Amazing from start to finish! Everyone was friendly and helpful. The sights were unforgettable. Really felt immersed in the Māori culture! I would go again in heartbeat!

A diverse and outstanding 3 day tour.
Tanya is an outstanding tour guide/bus driver. We enjoyed all of our experiences. From riding the tour bus on the beach, looking for beautiful sea shells, walking out to Cape Reinga, viewing the coast and sliding down the sand dunes. We also really enjoyed the culture Waitangi tour and walking the entire property. Also - great gifts in the gifts shop. Bay of Islands- great boat cruise!! We saw tons of dolphins on route and a few near the hole in the rock. Really enjoyed the short hikes on Otehei Bay.
