Hoover Dam

Daily 9am - 5pm
Hwy. 93, Boulder City

The Basics

The dam is a popular day-trip destination from Las Vegas and transportation options range from comedy buses, Hummers, and mountain bikes. On-site, tour the power plant, learn how the dam generates and distributes electricity, and see stunning views of the surrounding riverways, canyons, and valleys. Some tours even combine a Hoover Dam visit with shooting range stops, excursions to the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, or a cruise on Lake Mead. Want a bird’s-eye view? Opt for a flightseeing helicopter tour instead.

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour with Hoover Dam Stop, Meals and Optional Upgrades
My trip started at the hotel pick up. We proceeded to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, followed by a stop over at a gas station for "Sub-way" breakfast! Upon arriving at Grand Canyon West, we took the shuttle to Eagle Point and did the Skywalk. Had a quick lunch in the restaurant and moved on to Guano Point. The view at Guano Point was spectacular! My family enjoyed this trip very much! Kudos to our driver/tour guide, ensuring our safety throughout the whole trip!

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour & Hoover Dam Photo Stop with Optional Skywalk
Clean and modern bus. Friendly staff. Andrew and Lala were great hosts. Nice meals provided. It was very foggy so Grand Canyon was a disappointment; not their fault! Hoover Dam was impressive.

Grand Canyon, Skywalk, Hoover Dam Day Trip with Lunch from Las Vegas
The trip was exactly what I expected. It took 11 hours in total and had visits at Hoover dam, Hemenway park at Lake Mead and 3 hours in Grand Canyon. A free shuttle bus to great canyon views at both the Eagle and Guano points was available. Breakfast (a muesli bar and small bag of chips), lunch (a simple Subway sandwich) and water was included. The vehicle was a not very spacious 14 -seater van.

Hoover Dam Tour from Las Vegas
The bus driver was great, a lot of information about Las Vegas while driving to Hoover Dam. Didn't take but 40 minutes to get to the Dam by the bus. Frist time for us to be there! Very interesting how the Dam was built. Stan H.

Darren was the perfect tour guide. Polite and extremely knowledgable (if he doesn’t know a fact it’s probably not worth knowing!) Even treated us to a coffee at the lovely Boulder City Co Store on route to the Hoover Dam! Highly recommend.

3 Hour Hoover Dam Mini Tour and Seven Magic Mountains Small Group Combo Tour
This tour was great. Victor was an amazing tour guide. Some of the customers asked Victor if he would make an extra stop for souvenirs, and he quickly obliged. Victor explained how the Hoover Dam is an American treasure, and how Seven Magic Mountains is a masterpiece in the desert.

Inside Hoover Dam

A Hoover Dam tour features much more than just a 726-foot (221-meter) wall. Explore tunnels that were bored directly into the mountainside, hear the harrowing tales of workers who carved them out by hand, and tour the power plant. The Hoover Dam Visitor Center offers even more info about America’s most famous dam.
