The Paris Catacombs (Catacombes de Paris) date back to the 1700s, when the ossuary was formed from an old underground quarry. Over the years, more and more remains were brought here from overcrowded cemeteries to make room for the city's development, up until 1860. For those with an interest, it’s a fascinating look at a former burial practice.

My wife and I were...
My wife and I were EXTREMELY impressed by our guide. He was punctual, friendly, and the amount of material presented in the time allotted, was, according to my wife, perfect. He answered all of questions asked by the members of our group in a very professional manner. One of the best guides we have ever encountered on our holidays in Europe.

Fun experience
This was really fun and worth doing. They also limit people coming in so it isn’t too crowded at all. Get your tickets well in advance.

Must visit Catacombs experience in Paris!
We enjoyed learning about the history and events that took place in the Catacombs throughout Paris history; our tour guide was very well informed and passionate on the subject which provided for an enthusiastic, exciting tour which flew by so fast! He was friendly, patient, and managed a large group of people through a small space very well. We were so inspired we bought the book he referenced a lot during the tour so we can learn more on our own. 100% recommend!

Unforgettable
Victoire was amazing! My husband and I ended up running late but she was so kind and patient with us. You can tell she has a passion, as tour guides should yes but this felt more personable then your everyday transaction.
