The Basics

Many visitors tour Montezuma Castle in Camp Verde on a day trip from Phoenix, Sedona, or Flagstaff. In addition to the ruins themselves, tourists should set aside a few hours to explore the museum, walk the scenic trails, and have lunch along the shore of Beaver Creek. Visitors can focus on the castle and nearby Montezuma Well, or opt for a guided tour to five Arizona national monuments in a single day, including Montezuma Castle, Montezuma Well, Tuzigoot, Wupatki, and Sunset Crater National Monuments.

Sedona and it’s beauty and the drive up and back to Phoenix as the dessert transforms in multiple phases. Chris our driver provided so much great information. Didn’t know Montezuma Castle existed so fun to see . Spending time in the quirky town of Jerome and then driving home over the mountain and seeing its beauty was great

Ken was a wonderful guide! We really appreciated his flexibility and insight into the Native American ruins we visited while on our trip to AZ. When our daughter expressed interest in seeing a particular town, he rearranged the route to include a quick mini-adventure to a mine, and drove us through that town to we could see it. Excellent trip and guide!

We had a great time. Pick up and return right at the resort. Kim was so knowledgeable and able to get us from place to place in a timely fashion. She took our picture for us, offered suggestions of places to eat and shop. We much appreciated her and the opportunity to see Arizona’s treasures without the stress and worry if driving ourselves.

Sedona with Jerome and Montezuma Castle One-Day Van Tour
My favorite part of the trip was seeing Sedona. It was such a cute town and I loved that I asked our tour guide (Kim) for recommendations and she took me to different areas and stores and showed me around the cute town. There was a lot to see and explore with limited time and she answered all my questions and took me to the best places!!

Montezuma Well

Just a few miles from the cliff dwelling sits another archaeological site worth visiting, Montezuma Well. This limestone sinkhole is believed to be the remains of the Sinagua’s irrigation system. A half-mile paved trail winds through the site, and it’s an excellent spot to observe local wildlife such as whitetail deer, muskrats, rock squirrels, and some 100 species of birds.
