Our tour starts at a quintessentially Victoria donut shop, Empire Donuts, in the heart of downtown. Empire is known for its unique donuts in an intergalactic 50’s diner style shop. From there, we walk a short distance to a beloved coffee and donut spot in Victoria, passing some of the best restaurant locations (according to our guides!) along the way. Once caffeinated, we will make our way down to Government Street, taking in the inner harbour which includes the Empress hotel and parliament buildings. As we weave our way back into downtown, we will eventually hit our third donut spot, a local ma and pop shop for delightful donuts. Finally, we will walk towards Chinatown and end at Friend and Family Bake in Fantan Alley. This bakery has numerous Filipino treats, including donuts, and if we are lucky, we can see these delicious treats being made. We can’t wait to show you this wonderful city in all its donut glory! Release your inner gourmand on this sophisticated progressive dinner tour that visits four exceptional restaurants in downtown Victoria. Indulge in local haute cuisine in stunning dining rooms with four BC wine pairings. Our first two courses are at beautiful farm-to-table restaurants next to the inner harbour. Both serve sophisticated appetizers using locally foraged ingredients. We will raise a glass of BC bubbles to start then move on to a choice of either white or red BC wine. Our main dish is at L’Apero Wine & Cheese Bistro. Here we sample a traditional Alpine dish called Raclette. A half wheel of cheese is heated up and scraped on to your plate on a bed of potatoes, meats, and salad. A short walk later takes us to the breathtaking restaurant inside the famous Empress Hotel. We will end the tour with a decadent dessert from the stunning Q At The Empress Restaurant paired with a local port-style desert wine. A great place to linger longer or stroll along the harbour promenade.
