In Depth Van Gogh!

Our guide, Rolf Laimbock brought Van Gough to life. His knowledge of Van Gogh’s technique and use of color added dimension to viewing his art. Rolf’s use of his IPad during the tour enabled us to view the details of the paintings so we could see the techniques clearly. Rolf’s tour was by far the most outstanding of any I have every experienced and I have toured many great art museums.

Meeting Rolf Laimbock! He was extremely knowledgeable and provided great perspective of Van Gogh's art within the context of other great artists prior to Van Gogh. He also brought forth knowledge of Van Gogh's influence on future art and artists.

Rolf was wonderful! It was very easy to meet him in front of the museum, he had our tickets, he was incredibly knowledgeable, and answered her questions! He was also wonderful in trying to relate the art to modern times for my teenager!!

Rolph was a very kind and knowledgeable guide! He allowed us to take our time (my dad is in a wheelchair) and even had a coffee with us afterwards! The museum was of course amazing and exceeded our expectations!

I really felt like I learned a lot from Rolf. He brought along an IPad to expand upon the artworks that were in the museum. Any question I asked about Van Goh, he knew the answer readily.

Our Van Gogh Museum tour with Anna was insightful and very informative. It was really worth it to have a personal guide to take us through the extensive collection, explain and answer questions. We had only 2 complaints and they were re: (1) the tour description and (2) the tour management. (1) the tour is booked as a "Skip the Line" and "Fast Track" entrance. However, when our guide met us we were surprised that we had to get in the regular line/queue and we had to wait about 30 minutes in the cold to get to the entrance. (2) While we had a confirmed time for our tour when we booked, the tour agency contacted us to say no tickets were available at that time. We received multiple messages with different ticket times. We arrived at the time agreed upon in the latest message (9:45) with Anna. While on the tour with Anna, we received yet another message from another guide for a second tour time of 11:00am. There was obviously a lack of communication on this one.

Having a guide, Rolf Laimbock, for the museum was a great decision for me. He explained the life story of Van Gogh in a way that made the dark period of the painter to the bright period before his death meaningful. I highly recommend the tour.
