Wonderful Trip to Zaanse Schans on October 31, 2023
Teresa_E, Sept 2023
I had landed in Amsterdam in the morning but felt I had to see some windmills. The meeting place in Amsterdam was right by the Centraal Station, so easy to find. Our guide, the mayor of the city, was fantastic! The entire tour was great! I bought some cheese there and brought it back for my home and office. It was a tour I'm so happy I signed up for and I highly recommend it! Thank you!
Zaanse windmills

Wonderful experience! Maake was informative but flexible with the tour. I loved everything about the tour except the drive to the location was a little rough. I think the bus needs maintenance.
Lovely afternoon tour
Leslie_M, Sept 2023
Lovely afternoon tour - our tour guide was very knowledgeable about history of the area. The information shared/demonstrations by the clog maker, cheese shop and chocolate shops were run and informativet as well.
Great tour

Fun afternoon on this tour. Our tour guide was well informed on the history of the area and the demonstrations by the clog maker, cheese shop and chocolate shops were excellent. It was great to get out of the city and see what life was like in Hollland a long time ago.
Easy day trip for great views!

Great way to get out of the city of Amsterdam and see beautiful views in a few shorts hours. Our guide Maaike was super friendly and we fit a lot of stops and education into a half day.
View windmills, countryside, and learn
Sara_H, Sept 2023
Our guide, LiseLore, was excellent in providing history, answering questions, and suggesting ways to maximize our time. It was a nice way to go beyond the city and glimpse the past, learn about windmills and cheese and clog making. The village was lovely and the walking was easy. The small group size was a plus. This tour is a good value and a memorable experience.
Great way to see more than just Amsterdam city
Lorraine_A, Sept 2023
What a great tour to get out of Amsterdam city itself and see a little of the surrounding area. The windmills were a surprise to see how they worked, and the cheese making demo and tasting were good too. Needless to say I bought cheese :)
Informative and fun tour

Nice tour of Zaanse Schans. A bit touristy but no fault of our guide Maaike who was great. She was very informative and friendly. The wooden shoe and cheese shop were our favorites. The meet up at the church and hotel near city center was flawless.
Picturesque but disappointing
Marie_A, Sept 2023
Tour was picturesque. Guide was informative but seemed rushed. Lots of gift shops but not enough time to select something and pay for it. Very slow cashiers. Constructive criticism here: I tried to call guide when we were left behind. Phone number was not in service. Other tour company provides guide’s phone number. Drop off was not at the pickup location. We had arranged for a ride. Not a big deal since we were able to get a taxi.
Highly recommended

I enjoyed the history and the way the people lived. Amazing to see what the windmills are used and see it at work. Enjoyed the demonstration on the clog making and cheese making and of course the cheese samplings. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
What fun!

This was a great way to start our first trip to Amsterdam! Our guide Micki was friendly, fun and very knowledgeable! We got lots of information on cheese making, the wooden shoe demonstration was so interesting. We got to see everything and had plenty of free time for shopping and exploring. It was a great experience!
Great experience!

Ester was a great guide with lots of knowledge and good humor to her stories. The sights were so great and the tour was perfect!
Great tour
Thomas_G, Sept 2023
The tour was great but touring a working windmill was exceptional. The cheese was delicious. Bus driver was very accommodating with our wheelchair.
Interesting

Loved experiencing the clog making and the working windmill. Our guide was excellent and very friendly.
Don't hesitate, book now!
Lynette_R, Sept 2023
I had high expectations of this tour, but these were exceeded! I had the most amazing morning and we covered so much during this time (clog and cheese making, as well as the windmills). Beautiful, quaint town. Our guide, Maaike, was absolutely brilliant. She obviously loves her job and was very knowledgeable, outgoing and beautifully presented in traditional dress (complete with the clogs!). I would highly recommend booking this tour :)
Nice trip with an exceptional guide (Toast without the T)
Paulo_F, Sept 2023
The highlight of the trip is the quality of the guide (Toast without a T at the end), very knowledgeable and good spirit.
Wonderful tour to see windmills
Douglas_T, Sept 2023
Loved visiting the working windmill and seeing wooden shoes made. Our guide was very informative about the use of windmills in the Netherlands.
Great tour! Knowledgeable...
Tammy_C, Sept 2023
Great tour! Knowledgeable tour guide! I liked that I saw cheese making, wooden shoe making and working windmills all in a 3 hour tour!
Great quick getaway from Amsterdam
Andrea_I, Sept 2023
It was beautiful to see this village. So close to Amsterdam, yet so far away in many other respects. Good to get away from the crowds and noise of the capital. It was only 3 hours long which was actually perfect- otherwise it may have got a bit old all too soon.
A must visit
Elaine_R, Sept 2023
Best part of our holiday learning about the history of Holland and seeing how clogs were made and a working windmill. Would highly recommend
