A very long day can be expected but definitely worth the time. Our driver and guide Gabe, was fantastic. We were lucky to have him and I suspect he is one of their best. He was funny, helpful and informative and also put all of his guests first. Many beautiful sites along the way. The cruise was full of wonderful views of waterfalls, waterfalls and waterfalls! The food served on the cruise was just "OK". Probably the only disappointment. All in all though, it was a great time and recommended. Thanks so much Gabe!

Stopped by a few places and enjoy the moment embraced by the Mather nature. An excellent trip. Coach also the tour guide is very knowledgeable and passionate about his job. A pleasant trip for sure.

Amazing experience from the beginning through to the end

Coach trip down to Milford sound was meet with amazing views and plenty of stop offs for perfect photo opportunities or to just take it all in. Plus Sonya is an amazing person who does an awesome job getting you there and back both safely and on time, as well as keeping you entertained on the journey with both her commentary and conversations. Then the cruise itself is spectacular, great food from the buffet lunch and unbelievable views through the fjord, if you’re lucky you may even see a penguin, seal, and dolphin. Would recommend going on a lightly rainy day during winter as to see the snow through the Hollyford Valley and the waterfalls through Milford sound itself through the fjord. Great experience, would recommended.

The bus driver/tour guide Benjamin was very knowledgeable and friendly. The bus was really comfortable and clean. I think the stop on the way there and back at the cafe/petrol station could maybe have been something different each time to add more interest and the cruise buffet was very below average.

This is a wonderful tour trip. Visiting fiordland national park and Milford sound is a must do in NZ south island.

Our driver was knowledgeable about things around in New Zealand. Gave us a little more insights to the country! Would be better if the heater works better at the end of the coach. We were kinda freezing in the coach, but we still enjoyed the ride. I would say... the 5 hours ride up and 5 hours ride down is worth it. If you are heading there during winter, GEAR UP with your warmest outfit!

Our bus driver Keith was very knowledgeable about the areas we were going through and we loved the information. In general the bus trip and ferry were lovely and we really enjoyed it. We thought the lack of communication about our boat changing from gate 9 to 10 was a bit confusing. The tea/coffee table was a bit of a shambles by having the cups in the middle of the table, when putting things in the logical order to make a hot drink could have made it less chaotic with people trying to get around each other all at once.

Once in a lifetime tour we can get! Especially during winter trip! The trip we attempted was aborted due to weather and closed door half way to the destination. We were given two options, full refund or full reschedule. We were lucky as we stayed for 9 days our second trip was perfect! We were told if any part of the trip before the cruise to Fiords occurs, we were eligible to get full refund. Hurray Southern Discovery- one of the largest operator! The trip distance was about total 600km in 13 hours. We departed at 7AM and returned at 7:30PM. The driver was called Roland(?) and he was a truly safe professional driver we could relax and enjoy the trip through tough terrain. The bus trip was literally worth at least half the value of the trip. A few stops for bathroom and drinks plus photo stops. The photo stops were literally unreal. So beautiful every corner and every stops were once in a lifetime worth. Cruise to Fiords and water falls were too beautiful to put in words. The lunch on the cruiser was good enough. No issues. The sea was rough when it reached Tasman sea out of the Fiord but the cruiser was big and modern enough. I usually get sea-sick but it did not happen- probably I was too busy to take photos! I strongly recommend this tour from Queenstown plus cruise?without any hesitation!

The whole journey was absolutely stunning. The bus driver was friendly and informative. We made a few stops along the way, Te Anau, Mirror Lakes etc, they were VERY quick so don’t expect time to chill out on these stops. The cruise itself was lovely. Food was delicious. It’s a long ride back to Queenstown but good for a nap!

Keith, the tour guide was brilliant, he really knew his stuff and was a joy to listen to, he looked after everyone and kept the tour on time while making sure we got to see as much as possible, the day flew in. Boat and lunch was great, and the scenery was unbelievable, the Kia birds at Monkey Creek were hilarious, I thought the whole day was brilliant value for money and would highly recommend this company
