Our tour was great. Our tour guide Lankun "Mama" was very informative about Death Valley. It was just my brother and I on the tour. My brother is 18 and I am 22. I am not a wine person and only reason I chose this tour was because it was the only one that offered stargazing. Since it was just the two of us, we skipped the wine tasting and headed straight for the park. We had way more time to do some hiking and take pictures. Even our guide, Lankun, had never been able to have as much time as we did as she was always in a rush due to wine tasting. It is highly recommended and pretty much necessary for anyone doing this tour interested in stargazing to choose a day that is a New Moon day, meaning no moon. It is nearly impossible to see any stars with the moon out and bright. Since Death Valley is designated as a dark sky park and perfect for stargazing, going on a New Moon weekend is the best time to go. Yes, it is pitch black but you won't regret it. I just happened to choose a New Moon day and was even more excited for the tour. Lankun is very welcoming and knows a lot about Death Valley. My brother and I had a great time with her and she even did some hiking with us so that she could take the best photos with her fancy camera and send to us. The tours for this company are essentially a private tour and only ever take small groups. Even though it was pricey, it was worth it. I called Viator to triple check if other people were going on this tour for safety reasons and they said the tour wouldn't happen with less than 12 people. But don't panic as that is a norm for this specific tour since it is a private tour. This tour is a must for anyone interested. We were lucky that the heat in June wasn't too crazy and overwhelming. It hit 100 degrees, but did not feel as bad as it looks. Lankun, if you see this thank you for a great tour and helping me get my stamps in my National Park Passport book!

The stars are so amazing.
DAVID_C, May 2023
Death Valley was fantastic and the stars are breathtaking. Our tour guide Lankun aka Mama was amazing and made us feel like family. Mama had so much knowledge about the tour and we learned a lot. Please make sure you had enough space on your phone because the photos that she is going to take are breathtaking and she will send them to you. Please make sure you wear clothes with bright colors, it makes for some really nice pictures. We started off with the wine tasting and had a really nice time. Truffle chip and the wine slushies…don’t leave without getting them both. Make sure when booking the tour it’s under a New moon so you can really enjoy seeing all the stars and the pictures are so beautiful. Mama didn’t make you feel rushed and she was so kind and humble, she was truly amazing. We are still talking about the tour. I’m so blessed to be able to have shared it with my wonderful husband David. It felt like a second honeymoon.
Death Valley was...
Elise_L, Apr 2023
Death Valley was absolutely incredible, and Mama, our tour guide, was fantastic. She provided us with detailed information about all the locations we visited and displayed an impressive depth of knowledge. For stargazing enthusiasts, Mama advised us to avoid the full moon as it can be too bright. Nevertheless, the moon was still bright enough for us to take photos after sunset. Although the tour is marketed as a Sightseeing and Stargazing Photography tour, I believe it's more accurately described as a professional photoshoot. Mama took us to hiking to incredible landscapes and took hundreds of stunning pictures of us, which she skillfully posed and edited. It's highly recommended to take your time to prepare for this tour and wear bright colors, as suggested by Mama, as this will make the colors in the pictures truly stand out.
Wear Bright Colors

This tour was incredible. Our tour guide Lankun aka Mama was great. She was very informative on all the locations we passed and had a depth of knowledge. The tour is listed as a Sightseeing and Stargazing Photography tour but I think its better described as a photoshoot. We have hundreds of AMAZING pictures posed and edited by Mama. Take your time to get ready for this day and make sure you wear bright colors. We followed Mama’s advice and the color pops really make the pictures sing.
Death Valley was stunning!
Jon_T, Aug 2022
We loved the Death Valley portion of the trip and our guide was good. Art was very informative and kept us well hydrated throughout the trip. What left a bad taste in our mouth was having to pay out of pocket for the wine tasting when we already payed over 360 a person to go on trip…the least company could do is pay for wine tasting if the tour is called a Death Valley and wine tasting tour. Too cloudy for stargazing unfortunately which was disappointing but no control over that. Did see a tiny sunset! Would have given higher star rating if they included the wine tasting. Would recommend the tour but be aware no food OR wine is included

Hi, Jon. Thanks for taking the time to give us the review. This tour is $285/per person. I will reconfirm with your booking agent about the price. Thanks for letting us know. We strongly recommend all travelers call iTravel USA directly for a better rate, and more details about inclusion and exclusion.
Overpriced!
Charlene_C, Aug 2022
Great tour of Death Valley with an incredibly knowledgeable and kind guide. Unfortunately, the $400 fee did not come with anything VIP. I’d estimate this is really $150 value at best. Art, the guide, was awesome.
Response from Host, Aug 2022
Dear Charlene. Thank you for liking our guide Art. Our Death Valley tour is an 12-hour experience. $400 is single traveler fee on Viator, to ensure we can run the tour even not enough travelers. I would suggest single traveler to contact us directly to book the tour on a day we already have other travelers. The price will be significantly different.
Desert beauty

Our tour guide, Lankun, was wonderful. She knew so much about the geography and the area. Our favorite part was the stars we were able to see during the star gazing part. It was simply beautiful. It was June and very hot during the day. Dress for 100 degrees plus.
Jay took good care of us...

Jay took good care of us . Many interesting stops we would not have found on our own. The scenery was beautiful
Wonderful gift!

It was my 21st birthday and our guide, Lorenzo, made it so memorable. Passionate about nature, Las Vegas, and getting the best photo, he was a joy to be around and I learned a lot. Lorenzo was personable, spontaneous and came off very experienced. Everything on the tour was very smooth and well timed, we felt very taken care of.

We saw galaxies and shooting stars
Marq_B, May 2021
Lorenzo was great and this tour is a must do! He explained the history of Vegas and the area very well and his jokes kept us entertained the entire time. The Artesian Cellars winery had great food and wine and a lovely gift shop. Death Valley was beautiful and the stars at night are life changing. Especially when it‘s a new moon. Be sure to bring a small fan, hiking shoes and dress for the heat. Lorenzo will take care of the rest.
Amazing place, disappointing tour....
Stuart_H, Nov 2019
Firstly, Death Valley is amazing and a must see to appreciate the size and scope of the place. The tour we booked however was not quite what it was pitched as... Tony our tour guide was very pleasant and a good driver. However, being Albanian and having only lived in Las Vegas for 3 months, his knowledge of the area and it's history was limited at best. The wine tasting was just a trip to a winery (no tour of the vineyard or the cellars/wine-making facility, no talk about the history or wines themselves) and something we realised from a sign in the shop, was a free, sample testing of 3 of the winery's wines in their front of house shop (something which was offered complimentarily to anyone who walked through their doors). The star-gazing was also not as published. There was far too much light pollution from the nearby towns to achieve this. The trip is not "VIP" in any way either. Just a very standard (but acceptable) minibus....... The major problem I have with this tour is that it just isn't what is in the headline. If it said this is a trip to Death Valley and you'll see some of the sights & on the way we will stop at a winery which offers some complimentary tasting and the opportunity to buy some wine and at the end of the day you'll see the sunset over Death Valley and dropped the VIP claim then you would know exactly what you were getting and could decide if the £217 per person (there were 4 of us) represented good value. I would suggest it was over priced for what you actually got. But Death Valley is an amazing place!

Hello Stuart. We are terribly sorry that you didn't have a 5 star experience with us at the VIP Small group Wine Tasting + Death Valley Sightseeing Tour. This isn't the feedback we are used to hearing specifically about this tour. We take all the comments serious and use it to improve. I'm sorry to hear that you were not able to experience the star gazing since we had full moon for the last couple of days. Thank you for choosing iTravel USA!
