What To Expect

This sightseeing tour to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon begins with a hotel pickup in Las Vegas. Hop aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned motor coach equipped with reclining seats, panoramic windows and onboard restroom. Then make the trek east, first stopping at the Hoover Dam bypass bridge for a great photo opportunity, a stop for breakfast (included) and then driving through Joshua Tree forests and the Mojave Desert to the Grand Canyon.

Upon arrival at the Grand Canyon, enjoy four (4) hours of self-guided exploring at the West Rim. Hike to the Eagle Point and Guano Point overlooks to take in the amazing views. Visit the Hualapai Ranch for a wild west show and enjoy a delicious hot lunch available from a variety of different outlets (included in tour price). There are many options and a variety of exciting possibilities.

There are also two upgrades to consider during this time frame. First, consider adding a thrilling walk on the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass walkway nearly 4,000 feet above the floor of the canyon. Secondly, there's a stunning helicopter flight. Lift off high above the canyon in a helicopter, then swoop down between its walls and land on a bluff overlooking the Colorado River. Walk around, get an up-close look at the many layers of the interior of the canyon and gain an even greater appreciation of the immensity of this natural wonder.

The entire tour was planned great and very exciting. The bus ride was comfortable and has electrical and usb ports for charging. I met many people and enjoyed the views. Only suggest dress for the terrain. Wear conforitable shoes because lots of walking and uneven terrain. Skybridge was cool also. You can't take any items such as cameras or bags on the bridge but they have professional photographs they take and you can choose posses you want or they will suggest. It was worth it overall for the experience.

The Actual view of the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam, the drive was long but what are you going to do
Underwhelming
Jessica_R, Sept 2023
The views were great. I just wouldn’t recommend gray line tours. Our water that was part of the tour was hot. Other tours all had coolers and ours just sat in the sun in front of bus when it was finally brought out. The tour said breakfast but the vouchers that it said we needed were not given and tour guide didn’t know. Not to mention the breakfast was a stop at gas station. None of this was mentioned in brochure. The hot meal for lunch ended up well but it was confusing. The tour guide told us about 2 options. One was just a snack location. The third option we found on our own which turned out to be great. The brochure was very misleading and the tour guide didn’t seem to be knowledgeable about the specific tour he was doing or the current options at the location. Other tours take you to each place and explain what you are getting.
Amazing scenery worth the effort
Warren_T, Sept 2023
Advised that the trip we booked had changed with less than 24 hours notice and we wouldn’t get the river boat as booked. On the day we did actually get the boat trip but unnecessary drama. Coach then broke down after Grand Canyon so had nearly 3 hour delay. However canyon was amazing.
Response from Host, Sept 2023
Hi Warren, Thank you for leaving Gray Line such a nice 4-star review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your day with us and our driver/guide. Since 1910 the Gray Line family of nearly 200 worldwide sightseeing companies have been seeking out the best guides in every destination we serve, so it's nice to know our guide did such a great job and had great suggestions. We are sorry for the mechanical issue you experienced, yet it is nice that we were able to provide the canceled boat ride at the bottom of the Grand Canyon on the mighty Colorado River. On behalf of everyone at Gray Line around the globe, I want you to know that we all hope to see you on another adventure sometime very soon. Regards, Michael
Helicopter ride was total in air 11 minutes, had to miss sky walk because it was scheduled too close to helicopter ride.
Dennis_C, Sept 2023
Bus driver was good but but overall very unhappy. It was our 50 th wedding anniversary and was hoping for a better experience.
Response from Host, Sept 2023
Dear Dennis, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your sightseeing expectations. Normally, there is more than enough time to do everything at the West Rim, we are sorry that due to high visitations on your day that you were rushed. We are happy that you got the unique experience of having a bird's eye view of the Canyon as you descended 4000 feet during your helicopter ride. In closing, we and to again apologize, and wish you all the best in your future travels. Sincerely, Michael / GL Customer Service

Honest Opinion
Solon_M, Sept 2023
I do not recommend this excursion. Although the day itself was fine, the West Rim is just not enjoyable. The stop at the Dam was too far away for much appreciation. The bus didn’t offer much leg room, no cup holders and the charging stations were not working. I feel as if the time could have been spent elsewhere. I have used Viator many times in several states and this was the only disappointing experience.
Response from Host, Sept 2023
Dear Solon_M, Thank you for having chosen Gray Line for your West Rim excursion and we are sorry that we missed your sightseeing expectations. However, since you gave us your honest opinion, we are going to return the favor. If you did not find the views at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon to be not just enjoyable, but amazing, we do not think we could have done anything to really please you, Just to be clear, the Grand Canyon is mother nature at her most spectacular and majestic and whether or not people use us to see it...they should take the time to see this amazing place! Sincerely, Michael GL Customer Service
Even the storms can’t stop our fun!
Ron_V, Sept 2023
We had a great experience! Every thing in control of the company was handled perfectly. Our driver Freddy was prompt, professional and fun. The weather didn’t cooperate with our planned helicopter ride, no fear Freddy was there to make it right and contacted dispatch to start the refund even before we asked. Excellent customer service. Thank you and we will book again!

Not my best experience
Frederick_H, Aug 2023
All cost should have been covered before I arrived and not during the middle of the trip- poor experience. Driver’s communication was less than expected from what I am used to for a viator experience. Grand Canyon was beautiful- it saved this trip from being a disaster.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Dear Frederic, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your sightseeing experience. All expenses, except for the fuel surcharge which was disclosed in the booking process, are included. While we are sorry for missing your expectations, we are happy that you enjoyed the majestic views at the Grand Canyon, truly a beautiful and unique place! Sincerely, Michael

Great day
Jennifer_M, Aug 2023
Seeing the grand canyon was surreal! Tour guide was informative with lots of great. Tour was just the right length. I was skeptical about the food but it was delicious (pulled pork sandwich and mashed potatoes) and was my son's favourite meal in Nevada

Keep the air con on
Amit_C, Aug 2023
The tour itself was good, as were the stops. The queues for the skywalk were very long- an hour an a half and we lost a large amount of our time as the Grand Canyon because of this. Also the air conditioning didn’t seem to be on for the journey back and so it was very long, hot and uncomfortable on the back back to the hotel
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Dear Amit_C, Thanks for being a Gray Line customer and we do hope you enjoyed the spectacular views at the Grand Canyon, it truly is mother nature at her most majestic! We are sorry that the A/C had trouble keeping up with the record breaking heat here in the American Southwest. The summer desert temperatures can take a toll on equipment, but we will be making sure its is checked out and running at it best. In closing, I want to apologize for missing your a/c needs and I want to wish you all the best in your future travel adventures. Sincerely, Michael

2 off my bucket list with 1 tour, it was awesome! The bus trip was comfortable and the lunch at the sky restaurant was great. I Definitely recommended this tour.

Too short and too expensive trip, book with other agency
Andraz_V, Aug 2023
We had only 3 and half hours to spend at grand canyon, 1.5h we waited in line to get to the skywalk. There were three viewing points that you can go with bus, but we had barely time to visit only two of them. At the second point we planned to have a lunch that is included in ticket price but they didn’t have any food despite our driver said that we can eat at each viewing point. We were hungry all day. We contacted customer service to get cash back for lunch but they rejected complain.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Dear Andraz, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry that you felt rushed during your time at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. Normally the four hours that our tours are at the West Rim are more than enough time for guests to do everything they want at the West Rim. Unfortunately, just like most of the world's tourism attractions, on certain days everything is just busier than normal. We are sorry that this affected your enjoyment of this amazing place. The West Rim of the Grand Canyon is on the tribal reservation of the Hualapai Nation, a native American tribe. Just as Disney operates all venues & attractions at Disney World, the Hualapai Nation are the operators of everything within their Tribal lands. We will pass along your comments about long lines to them. Regarding your missed lunch, even with heavier than expected crowds there should have been sufficient time to visit all scenic points and receive your lunch. Unfortunately, we do not refund for missed lunches due to larger visitor counts than anticipated. In closing, I want to thank you for your feedback and wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, Michael
Most unorganized tour I have ever been on
Regina_G, Jul 2023
Grand Canyon is amazing, hopefully there are better options to go see it though. We purchased the helicopter landing with boat ride and the skybridge option. There is no mention that if you choose these options you will be rushed to do rest of tour and get back to bus on time. Our pickup time was 6:30 a.m., bus did not arrive until 7:10. Not sure if there was a problem with bus but there were warning lights and a beeping the entire time and we averaged about 40 MPH the whole trip. We did not get vouchers for breakfast, had a flyer in seat that said lunch was at 3rd stop but it was really at 2nd stop and we did not have time to go back after we found out. Bottled water was supposed to be provided, nothing was mentioned until I asked at stop 2 and we finally got some at that time. There was 1 small cooler and after everyone on bus got a bottle the rest was hot the rest of trip. There was a very bad language barrier with driver and passengers. We were given times to be back at bus, door was closed and bus moving prior to that time at each stop. Hopefully no one was left but did not seem to have any checks for passengers before leaving. At one stop someone in back of bus let him know we were missing several people. For the price we paid, expected more. I did reach out to Viator on Friday after our tour but have not heard anything back from them. Feel that there should be some concessions for the unsatisfactory experience.

Grand Canyon
jacqueline_n, Jul 2023
The only thing we were able to experience was the helicopter, was said that because the pontoon boat was canceled and that champagne would be served champagne. Not true. We didn’t get to see anything, no tour, no photo stop at dam. Now Grand Canyon tour or skywalk because we had no time! Not even a lunch. Because we couldn’t get to them. So all we did was helicopter ride. 16-1700$ Could of taken the three of us on a helicopter trip for less then 500$ so I would not recommend this package. It really was a disappointment for my wedding.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Dear jacqueli, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your sightseeing expectations. Most guests seem to think that our Grand Canyon helicopter flights are a great value and quite enjoy the experience of having a bird's eye view as they descend nearly 4000 feet to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Our West Rim helicopter providers is one of the largest flightseeing helicopter operator's in the world and is known for both excellent service and reliability. In closing, I want to wish you all the best in your future sightseeing adventures. Sincerely, Michael

Well spent time. Bus...
Debra_G, Jul 2023
Well spent time. Bus driver didn’t know if our 2 meals were included in our package and we just didn’t get breakfast. We were told to go straight to the sky walk which we spent over 2 hours in line. We then found out that we could have gone to the other two points then come back to the sky walk, this way the line would have been shorter. We only got though the skywalk line in time to get back to the bus to head back. It was hot even on the bus.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Hi Debra_G, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry that you had issues with the shuttles at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. All of the services at the West Rim, including the shuttles and the food service, is operated by the Hualapai Nation. They are the native American tribe on whose ancestral land reservation the West Rim is on. As we do not operate the shuttles or the restaurants, we are unable to provide a refund for the slow service. It is the same situation as if a tour company took you to Disney and you were not able to do everything. We are very sorry that this affected your day and we will be passing your thoughts along to the Hualapai. In closing, I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, Michael
Indian rip off
Deano_I, Jul 2023
The bus and Driver were fine but he was 15 minutes late on my pickup the bus ran out of water the tour has no awnings on certain trails with blaring Sun the food and everything inside is triple overpriced I would not recommend the trip for that if they're making $25 for lunch per person and give you 2 oz of meat 1/3 of an ear of corn and one scoop of instant mashed potatoes it was totally overpriced and you don't even sit in an air conditioned room you sit on benches that hurt they surely can afford to put some awnings on the trails that lead up to them Etc also one of the stations was not open to the public yet that was not disclosed before I paid for this tour
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Dear Deano_I, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry that we were 15 minutes late picking you up. When your work around the busiest tourism corridor in the world sometimes delays due occur usually the result of unscheduled road works, heavier than normal morning traffic or difficulty locating guests at a previous pickup point. We are sorry that this affected your day. Regarding, uncovered paths and pricey goods at an attraction- at Gray Line we don't operate the Grand Canyon attractions, yet I think most people understand that when you go to remote nature attractions you will probably be exposed to...nature. And the costs of providing services in remote areas is one of the reason that the West Rim might be considered pricey, but that is also true of the other world's attractions like Disney or Broadway. In closing, we are sorry for missing your expectations and we do want to wish you all the best in your future travels. Sincerely, Michael
