What To Expect

Hop aboard your air-conditioned coach in central London, and leave the city’s crowds behind as you journey into the English countryside on your day trip. On route, put on your state-your-art Vox headphones to clearly hear your guide’s commentary, and gain fascinating insight into the passing sights.

Travel through historical, maritime Greenwich, and glimpse its famous National Maritime Museum, Royal Naval College and 18th-century Royal Observatory, the home of the Prime Meridian, where the world’s time is set.

Then, head into the picturesque county of Kent, and arrive at Leeds Castle: a picture book, 12th-century castle encircled by a moat and parklands. Head inside and take a private tour before the doors open to the public. Admire the opulent rooms filled with rich furniture, tapestries, and artworks, and learn how the castle was once a residence of medieval monarchs. 
Stroll through the gardens, and perhaps navigate your way through the maze, a puzzle of geometric yew hedges.

Next, drive to the ancient city of Canterbury, home to UNESCO-listed Canterbury Cathedral: a center of Christian worship for nearly 1,000 years. Founded in 597 and rebuilt in the 11th and 12th centuries, this majestic church is one of England’s oldest. 

Head into this serene cathedral, and enjoy the special privilege of a guided tour in your large group, as you listen to your guide’s commentary via your headphones. As you explore, learn about the church’s bloodiest hour—the day in 1170 when four knights of Henry II stormed inside and murdered Archbishop Thomas Becket.

Back on your coach, continue through pretty villages toward Dover on Kent’s south coast. Here, snap photos of the famous White Cliffs of Dover. Learn why this site is important to the English, and see England's largest castle, Dover Castle, rising from a hilltop.

The tour was great. The coach was clean and comfortable. Evans Evans location was easy to find and the staff were friendly and efficient. Our guide, Sheila, was absolutely amazing! She was so knowledgeable and friendly. She gave great information and history at each site, as well as along the journey to each stop. She absolutely made the trip so special. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Walking around Leeds castle with it's whimsical rooms. It wasn't crowded and there were many volunteers to answer your questions. The town of Canterbury was nice too. It was unexpectedly modern and at the same time had many old pubs and hotels. The church was very large and I felt lost in there. I had trouble finding my way out. Dover was just a photo opportunity.

What a wonderful tour! Our guide Godfrey was fantastic! Knowledgeable, informative, with a great sense of humor and story telling. Not a bad singer either. Leeds Castle was lovely, Canterbury Cathedral was stunning. Shout out to our driver Kevin as well. I would recommend this tour and highly recommend Godfrey if you can get him.

A Pleasant Day Trip Worth the Time

We enjoyed this day trip. All of the trip was very interesting. Only complaint is that the tour guide was not very baby friendly. However, he was very knowledgeable and did a good job with all the information of what we were seeing. His diction was very easy to understand also. It was a pleasant drive and we had plenty of time to visit all three places. The castle had a lot of interesting aspects. Dover cliffs were beautiful, and enjoyed the Canterbury Cathedral a lot. I would definitely recommend this trip to others.

Awesome guide. Loved the town of Canterbury. I would recommend Viator to every. Pick up and return was on time. Bus driver was a lot of fun. He had a great sense of humor. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the day.

A Lovely Day Trip Out of London

Leeds Castle was very lovely and we had a good amount of time to walk around. It is a large area so not all can be seen in 2 hours. Dover was a nice quick stop to see the water and cliffs. Canterbury was a good end to the day with plenty of food options in town before walking around the cathedral. It was relaxing to have a bus and guide take us around the southeast.

Didn’t live up to expectations

The tour iwas a big disappointment but our guide was great ..but the Canterbury Cathedral had a university graduation The day we visited blocking off half of the cathedral had I known I would not have booked this day, so either viatour and Evan Evans did not know or they did not tell us either way that it’s bad when the cathedral is used by university for a graduation it is not a good time to visit. Also, Dover cliffs, was a great disappointment, as we just drove up to the coastal town of Dover, which was not very interesting at all more of a industrial type of a feel, the cliffs were seen from a great distance, and they were half covered in moss and growth not at all what you envision When you think of white cliffs of Dover I’m sure there would be better locations to view, but this is a very poor tour and not recommended.

A Magnificent Cathedral

The Canterbury Cathedral was marvelous, the history as told by our guide Godfrey was most definitely a highlight for me. The architecture was magnificent. Other places on the trip just about as good. Some unavoidable traffic problems did not deter from a great day

me and my sister had so much fun! eddie our tour guide was super knowledgeable and really funny. it was so cool to walk through some of the sites at night and everything we saw on the boat was really beautiful. i love ghost stories and these were really intriguing and creepy. highly recommend!! eddie was great!!
