Great day in Napier

From the cruise port, we had transportation to town and met our tour guide at the aquarium. Only 8 people on the tour which is really nice. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The Art Deco buildings in Napier are fantastic, we walked around after the tour to take photos. We went to the Mission winery first and that was lovely, had a great tasting session there. The second winery (I forget the name) was a nice place, but we didn’t get great service there. The stop at the ale house was fun and we were able to purchase some food there. My only critique would be that there really wasn’t an opportunity to buy any food till the last stop and after 2 wineries with 6 tastings at each, some folks could be a bit “tipsy”.

You are in port for normally 5 hours, we take a 4 hour tour and neither of the 2 wineries supply food as you would have noticed. This always depends on the timing of your ship. Tour was very enjoyable. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. Pickup was easy and ride comfortable. Small group made for good conversation and enjoyable time. We went to two wineries then beer tasting at a local ale house. Following this, toured the city and learned about the earthquake and rebuilding of the town. Also went to a development where the houses are of the Art Deco style. Very cool. Recommend this tour.

Very nice tour. Small group, nice wines. We liked second winery wines more than Mission Hill. Brewery was good too. Tour guide was friendly. Prices are a lot cheaper than cruise line's.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area! The wineries we went to were both great and brewery too! I was traveling solo and was with all couples, but still had a great time chatting with everyone! And they make sure that you definitely make it back to the cruise on time so there is no need to worry!

A comprehensive tour run by a very well informed guide. A very interesting tour of the many art decor buildings which adorn Napier, followed by two excellent wine tastings and wrapped by a visit to an establishment which offered v generous sampled of beer and ciders. Money well spent.

The Art Deco tour of the town was so interesting. The Mission Winery was beautiful. The cider served at the Brewery was delicious. I would recommend this tour.

Lovely informative tour of Napier with its beautiful and historic buildings. We started the tour with wine tastings at two of the regions wineries. Wine at ten in the morning. Very enjoyable. Beautiful countryside. Then back to Napier for the beer tasting and a further drive with photo opportunities. A great and enjoyable tour.
