Onome was a very helpful guide with recommendations, history, and local customs. I would definitely recommend to a friend who is looking for a day trip to mont st Michel out of Paris—I might try to stay for a whole day/a few nights next time thanks to this experience.

Great guides engaging...

Great guides engaging helpful when needed to be. Tour group diverse some friendly . Tour interesting. personally for me too many people visiting on the island . I gather if seeking less popular time October November would be better to visit.
Great Trip
Thomas_T, Sept 2023
The visit to Mt St Michel was wonderful. The island abbey was very special. Our guides were very good. The driver did the best he could despite massive traffic on the return trip. Otherwise it was a good trip.
Awesome tour guides

Awesome day trip! Mont Saint Michel did not disappoint! The tour guides really made it memorable! Shout out to Arick and Sid!
A fantastic architecture
Maryam_F, Sept 2023
It took about 4 hours each way on the bus, but it worths it. The tour was very well managed. Saeed is a very knowledgable and humble tour guide, always happy to help and answer the questions. I definitely learned a lot about the French history and Mont Saint Michel, in addition to a lot of useful information about Paris. The view was great when you get the top, however it doesn’t look suitable for people with mobility issue. The weather despite weather forecast was great. There are plenty of restaurants with variety of options available. I wish I knew Saeed at the beginning of my trip to ask him for tour planning and recommendation during my stay in Paris.(definitely a souvenir for my friends!) Overall, this tour is 100% recommended.
Hassle free, fun day
Elizabeth_F, Sept 2023
Lots of history given on way to Mt St Michel after allowing an early morning snooze on the bus. The guide got us to the abbey, handed out the audio guides and lots of suggestions on how to spend our free time. The bus was comfortable and stops were made halfway in both directions for comfort and snacks. Such an easy, hassle free way to go from Paris.

We booked this trip with Viator because we’ve used them for past experiences, but we regret using them on this one. We had Dee as our “tour guide.” She mentioned she was only doing this for work because she was a student and needed money. Many times throughout the trip she had to correct herself about things she said. She mentioned a cemetery in our way to Mont Saint Michel and then realized what she said was wrong minutes later. It made us question if anything she said was true because she did this multiple times throughout the trip. When we arrived to Mont Saint Michel, she was leading us, but then lost the majority of the group before giving us our audio guide. In all the tours we’ve taken, we’ve never lost a tour guide, but we weren’t the only people to lose her on this tour. There were many upset people with us looking for her so we can receive our audio guides (she didn’t give it to us beforehand). We gave up an entire day and plenty of money to go on this tour and learn nothing about this gorgeous monument. We have used Viator for many of our travels, but now we are hesitant and we regret using them for this tour. We used Viator for a trip to the D Day beaches (great experience), Versailles (decent tour - nice tour guide, but had a heavy accent), and this one to Mont Saint Michel (HORRIBLE experience). Truly, I was envious of others who were exploring with an informative tour guide. I regret not using a different company. If possible, use a different company to book a trip here.
Was nice to see this Abby.

It was nice to see St Michel .the reason I stop over here. Bad thing No guide take us inside .No boole water provided. No WC provided which was ridiculous. We pay too much money for this tour .
Go for Mont Saint Michel
Tracey_C, Sept 2023
Mont Saint Michel was absolutely beautiful and worth it. However there was no through Viator. It was a self.guided audio tour once at Abby. The bus was clean and tidy. But we were not allowed to have coffee or chips or certain food on the bus. Didnt know this until we all bought it at rest area and came to bus. But Mont Saint Michel. Excellent. Very very crowded by time we got there.

Aeeda ( spelling ?) & Selene both gave us a very informative background to our trip but particularly Aeeda with his ability in storytelling. He made the history come alive!
Wonderful tour and experience

Our tour guides were very prompt and communicative. They were able to give us enough information for us to be able to navigate Mont St. Michel on our own and see the sights in the cathedral, village, and restaurants.
Review of the Mont Saint Michel tour
Yang_C, Aug 2023
Notes for the Mont Saint Michel daytrip tour (1) The public shuttle bus part should be briefed in more detail to the tour group while everyone is on the tour bus. The shuttle bus is indeed not very complicated, yet a well briefed image to the tour people on the relationship among “the tour bus – public shuttle bus – the Mont Saint Michel site” will certainly clear everyone’s mind and make the overall daytrip more smooth. (2) The audio device that was handed out to tour people is much appreciated, yet on this device I feel more briefing by the tour guide is needed, like: * To whom does the audio device belong? It belongs to the MSM Abbey (I initially thought it belongs to the tour company, which had led to some minor confusion). * How to return the audio device? It should be returned at the last check point while within the MSM Abbey, where it looks like a customer service hall, after which you will be stepping into the gift shop. Since we received no briefing on how to return the audio device, we walked right thru that customer service hall, where some staff from the Abbey stopped us and told us to return the device, at that point we realized the device was beeping as it was being taken out of the administrative border. (3) The handing out of the audio device. From my perspective, this matter can be handled better. The handing out happened right at the MSM Abbey ticket path area, as we were a sizable group of about 40 people, the whole group got halted as the audio device handing out unfolded, and we were standing right on the ticket path. We had to wait for the handing out. At that point I heard the Abbey gate lady yelled to us, “Move forward! Move forward!” Basically to no avail, as we had to wait in the handing out procession, and the tour guide was busy sorting and handing out the device at the front, no one can actually direct the group to move forward. At that time I thought, and am still thinking, if the tour guide, upon getting the big bag of the devices from the Abbey administration, directed first the whole group to move out of the ticket path area, then, somewhere immediately beyond that point, the whole group can line up for the audio device, without blocking the ticket path. This should be doable, and again, make the overall tour of MSM more smooth. PS: I bought some lovely and memorable MSM magnets now I can adore from our overcrowded fridge door. Don’t worry, they have their special places. The MSM tour is definitely the highlight of my family’s 10-day tour of Europe (too big a word, we just covered London and Paris). On MSM Abbey that big observation platform I noticed armed French soldiers on duty, and even though I watched in advance some YouTube videos extoling the beauty and mystery of MSM, it was only during this tour that I heard from the tour guide that MSM is to France just as the Pyramid is to Egypt. Well said. Okay, I think effort is worth being made to make every MSM tour more smooth, more memorable, so people from all over the world can hold it dear.

Our guide Saeed made the history easy to understand and relate to - great communicator. Celine (sorry if misspelt) was also very welcoming and helpful.

Gina_S, Aug 2023
A very long day but definitely worth it- a spectacular sight & experience. Guides were not great & were not very professional (taking it in turns to sleep in the back of bus). The small amount of history we were given was quite difficult to understand.
Informative and fun
Nanxin_L, Aug 2023
The most memorable part of the experience is when we learned the history of Mont Saint Michel and Paris.
Wonderful location, tour lacking
Marcella_P, Aug 2023
Forewarning you will spend most of the time on the bus - I knew it was a long drive but it was 4-hours one way. The coach does not have wi-fi which would have been nice considering the length. Our guides were so so. I found the leader to be arrogant and rude (as did my daughter). It could have been her accent but she just came off curt. There was not much narration of St. Michel to really give you an introduction of why it was built, who still lives there - no history as in past tours. One thing that really bothered me was that she smoked, so every time there was a stop she smoked and that in turn stunk up the coach. When we arrived we were all told to stay together as school children (guides words). We were all to walk together so that she could give us audio guides. While she had a flag it was never in the air so we all lost her because there was many people and the alleyway was narrow that you had to dodge people - that and she walked very fast. So once at her stopping point we had to wait for people to catch up. Then when she came out with the audio guides she had some excuse as to why we didn't get our own, that the families had to share. All in all we lost 1 hour from walking from the coach, waiting for people and herself. Was very disorganized. And there was 37 of us so try keeping tracking of that many people was challenging. They didn't tell you where to go and what to see - when back on the bus she asked us if we all saw the prison and we were like "no", none of us had. She said oh that's too bad -- you would have thought she would point that out in advance. Once we were let go on our own to explore we had 2.5 hours - but honestly only about 2 hours because we were told that if we were not back on the coach they would leave us. It put the fear of god in all of us because we all ended up back very early to the coach and even then there was one person that was late and they waited. St. Michel is a great location and highly recommend going to see. It is a quick tour inside, about an hour but then there are lots of places to eat and shop. I do not recommend going during summer/peak times. It is just way too busy, you cannot move. It was like herding cattle through it all. I also recommend finding a tour that can just get you out there at your leisure so that you can walk more out into the sandbars if the tide is out, walk and not do the shuttle. So much more to see but we didn't have the time.

The bus ride was comfortable and cozy. The tour guide was a young lady who knew when to talk and when to give us rest on the bus ride. She was active, knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend this trip.
While the monastery from...
Richard_B, Aug 2023
While the monastery from a distance is beautiful, it was too crowded and there did not seem to be any rhyme or reason to moving the crowds orderly in and out of the monastery and the town. As we climbed the steps the crowds often stopped for no reason at all. They was not a lot of direction or anyone to help you. As we only had about 3 hours to tour, with the crowds and the delays, we never really got to tour the village.
not one of my better tours
Thomas_G, Jul 2023
people showed up late. They didn’t have the proper tickets to do the tour. They didn’t advertise that the bus does not have usable bathrooms. This is a long journey in the bathroom should’ve been made available. We were told we couldn’t drink on the bus because the bus drivers don’t want to have to clean up the bus. It was hard to understand some of the explaining of the history. …very disorganized. People are nice bus was clean. Just not professional.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Hi Thomas_G, Thank you for booking our Mont Saint Michel Day Trip from Paris and for sharing your feedback with us. We appreciate your time in reviewing the tour. We apologize for the issues you encountered during the trip. Late arrivals and improper tickets are not typical of our tours, and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused. We will investigate and take steps to ensure a smoother check-in process. Regarding the lack of usable bathrooms on the bus, we understand the importance of comfort during long journeys. We will take your feedback into account to improve the amenities available on board. We regret any miscommunication regarding drinking on the bus, and we will work on clarifying our policies to avoid any confusion in the future. As for the historical explanations, we apologize if some parts were hard to understand. We will take this into consideration and strive to improve the clarity of our guides' explanations. On a positive note, we are glad to hear that our staff was friendly and the bus was clean. However, we take your comment about professionalism seriously, and we will work diligently to enhance the overall organization of our tours. Once again, we appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with a more seamless and enjoyable experience on your future travels. Best regards, Edgar J. Communications Manager City Wonders

to the Mont. The highlight was obviously your first impressions as you approach Mont St. Michel and as you slowly head home. Walking into the complex is a buzz with so many people in those narrow alleyways. I loved the challenge of the steps and the little secret places that you guide points out to you along the way. Another is the thrill of exploring at your own pace as you uncover the hidden secrets under the Abbey. Another surprise was to see the US First Lady and France's First Lady on a visit to the Mont!
Fun excursion
