What To Expect

Spend a day away from Paris and visit the Normandy beaches where thousands of the Allied Powers’ troops landed to free France from Axis control during World War II. During your early-morning ride aboard an air-conditioned coach to northern France, your informative guide shares fascinating commentary on the events of June 6, 1944, better known as D-Day.

Begin at the Utah Beach Museum, housed in an original German bunker and constructed on the beach where the first American troops landed. Here, learn about Operation Overlord (the Allied codename for the Normandy Invasion) and the invaluable assistance from French citizens that made a difference in the war.

Utah Beach is now home to one of only six remaining original B-26 fighter planes that were used during the invasion. Look out onto breathtaking views of the beach from inside the museum before heading down to the beach itself.

Next, head out to the countryside to a 17th-century barn with a traditional cider-making orchard, and savor some of its cider and calvados (an apple-based brandy). With your appetite opened up, settle in for a 2-course lunch at a restaurant overlooking the port of Grandcamp-Maisy. (Lunch typically includes a main course of fish or meat, dessert, and a glass of cider.)

After your meal, your coach takes you to Pointe du Hoc, a cliff-top German defense the US troops heroically seized. Continue to Colleville-sur-Mer and pay your respects to the fallen at the American Cemetery.

From the cemetery, you can see Omaha Beach, one of the landing beaches where many American soldiers are buried. Inside the Omaha Beach Visitor Centre, gain insight into the landings that did not fare accordingly to plan.

Then, board your coach for return transport to your departure point in Paris.

It was a long day of travel, but so worth it.
It's a little bit of a hike from the parking lot to the cemetery, so you have to hustle to see what you want to see.

Normandy is humbling
Marvin_F, Sept 2023
What an amazing privilege to visit Normandy. These men and their sacrifice left us humbled. I wish we had more time at each venue. There’s so much more to view than there is time.
Once in a lifetime chance to see history done perfectly!
Steven_S, Sept 2023
It was an incredible trip to see the historical locations for myself. The size of the area is much larger than it is portrayed in movies. The museum, the actual beaches and the American cemetery were all very moving. Our Guide, Sid was very knowledgeable, friendly and a super person. Lunch and the cider tasting at a very old family orchard was like a bonus prize. Very enjoyable but so different from the other part of the trip. Everything was on time and smooth and we were back in Paris by dusk. Perfect in everyway!
You must see the D-Day landings to appreciate what those doldiers did for us.
sbroich, Sept 2023
Seeing the beach where my compatriots of the 4th ID landed. Joy, respect, sadness and pride filled my heart. Sam and Raymond were fantastic!
Barely OK
David_H, Sept 2023
We got to see what was promised although quickly. Our problem was with our bus seating. We were in the last row with little legroom. If you have to ride there, turn it down!!
This excursion is one you shouldn’t miss!
Lisa_E, Sept 2023
Iman was an absolute encyclopedia on WWII. He made this experience come alive with so much knowledge I was blown away. I learned so much I had never heard before. Long day, but so worth it!
Learn about WWII in comfort!
Haydee_R, Sept 2023
Our Guide - Imad - was very passionate about WWII and shared the history in a very interesting way. I learned a lot from him. He kept the tour on time as well - made the departure times quite clear. A good mix of time alone and time with him leading talks. Excellent.
Great tour, worth the money-Long day
Kathy_P, Sept 2023
I made is amazing and did an excellent job explaining the history which prepared us each leg of the way for what we were about to experience. Lunch was good, get the fish! Others weren't happy with the pizza choice. Cider ok but worth the trip to see the historical barn. Bus was super comfortable and I made made it easy to use thevrest room along the way.
Memorable Trip
William_M, Sept 2023
Everything was great until the coach broke down 30 km outside of Paris. Would have liked more time at Utah Beach landing site and less time tasting cider. Tour guides and drivers were great.
Normandy - a somber experience.. Thank you to all who lost their lives for freedom. RIP
Carl_A, Sept 2023
Brad was an exceptional tour guide! He was very well informed about Normandy, the beaches and the history. He provided us with detailed information about what we were going to see and who was involved prior to and after our stops. Lunch & the Cider tasting was fun and the food at the little restuarant delicious. Wish we had more time at the musuem & the beaches & especially the cemetary. It felt a little like we had to rush all day to get it all in & yet it was necessary due to the distance traveled. It was a long day - but quite memorable. All Americans should visit.
Wonderful and informative tour.
John_C, Sept 2023
Sid, our tour guide was exceptional. He was so knowledgeable, kind, funny and very attentive to everyone. One of the best tour guides I have ever experienced.
Good tour, Poor ending
Christine_C, Sept 2023
Great locations and education, but bus broke down on the way back to Paris requiring us to get an Uber. Tour guides were friendly and informative, but rushed us throughout the tour.
Great trip but a lot jammed into 1 day.
Jim_R, Sept 2023
This trip was really good. The guys hosting the trip were great. The downside to it is there was a lot jammed into 1 day. I almost feel like this could be an over night trip. Bus ride is a little long foe a 1 day trip. The duration of the visits at each site was too brief.
Informative. Emotional. Entertaining.
LOUISECBROWN_L, Sept 2023
Sid was both informative & entertaining. The day was filled with emotional highs & lows. Sid was a master at navigating us through the entire day. And it was a long one. But it was well worth it.
Memorable tour with super history
Elizabeth_S, Sept 2023
Our guides were excellent - Sam and Sid. The bus was very uncomfortable, which is the only reason I'm giving you a four instead of a five. In addition, there is no need for the cider tour and tasting - we would have returned to Paris much earlier.
Wonderful
Debra_B, Sept 2023
The tour guides were very good and informative. Had a great time. Love every thing about it. The cider tasting was very good. Would recommend this tour to friends and family. Tell the guys they did a good job all around.
Our tour guide was...
amaliawright, Sept 2023
Our tour guide was absolutely amazing! He made the experience even more memorable, he did great going over all the history and was so fun! The only thing is it felt very rushed the whole time to go through so much missed alot of things and information, wouldn't do a big group tour again if you really want to take your time and see everything
Memorable and moving…
Shelley_M, Sept 2023
What an amazing day on the Normandy coast! Sid and Sam were so knowledgeable, friendly and fun! Their expertise on WWII was so valuable to the entire experience! We covered everything I wanted to see and more… Thanks for the memories!
Freedom
Patricia_S, Sept 2023
Guides were great source of information! It is an amazing place to visit makes you appreciate the price that was paid for our freedom! Those soliders were heroes!
Prefect Day
Pamela_P, Sept 2023
I don't even know where to begin, I guess I should start with our tour guide Eric. Talk about AMAZING! He was so knowledgeable. He started with the Roman rule and brought it full circle to WWII. My husband is disabled and Eric made sure to slow down to include us in the talks. He definitely went the extra mile at the American Cemetery. We don't drink but everyone seemed to enjoy the cider tasting while we were there. Lunch was truly delicious. The little fishing town was beautiful. I don't usually give a prefect review because there is always room for improvement, but not sure how you can improve on this tour. Definitely recommend this tour.
A day well spent
Richard_M, Sept 2023
Sam and our other guide were great. They were very knowledgeable and kept it interesting. Lunch and the Cider tasting was a bonus.
