Hotel pick-up commences from 5mins after the weather check time for your flight. Please check email confirmation from operator stating closest pickup location and time. If you are staying at an location not listed, please advise Milford Sound Scenic Flights and they will advise you of the closest pickup location.
What To Expect
You're picked up at your hotel in Queenstown at your selected departure time, or you can opt to self-drive to the hangar. On arrival, you are checked in and provided with a window seat aboard the aircraft. Then settle in for a scenic flight to Milford Sound.
The route takes you over the magnificent landscapes of Fiordland National Park, with majestic views of mountain lakes and waterfalls. Listen to your pilot's narration before landing and swapping your plane for a cruise boat to explore Milford Sound. Spend ample time covering the length of the fiord, from Mitre Peak to the Tasman Sea. A picnic lunch is available for purchase before you board the boat.
Upon completion of the cruise, you are flown back to Queenstown on a different flight path along the Southern Alps. When you reach Queenstown you are transferred back to your accommodation.

- Wheelchair accessible
- You will need to call 1hr 15mins before the departure time you have booked for. If the weather is suitable you will be picked up from your hotel approximately 5 minutes after the call.
- Most travelers can participate
- Infants are classed as 11kgs or under. If they are over this weight, they will be classed as a child due to infant seatbelt weight limit restrictions. They will have to be charged a child price on the day if weights and are over the 11kg limit.
- Not recommended for pregnant travellers 36 weeks or more into their pregnancy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
- Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

The flight was the highlight! Majestical views, worth the extra $ vs the bus. Our pilot was calm, knowledgeable and happy to share. The cruise portion was relaxing and informative and beautiful.

Scenic flight over the Southern Alps

Wonderful experience flying over the Southern Alps, snow clad mountains in a 12 seater plane, with experienced well informed pilot.
The Milford sound cruise was an epic journey out to the Tasman sea, returning to be flown back in comfort in our aircraft, taking in a different journey back to Queenstown.

Flying over Fiordland in Otago, NZ is one of the most visually stunning experiences ever! The cruise around Milford sound was very good as well.

My girlfriend and I both loved this tour!! It was expensive, but we were happy to save all the time it would have taken to drive there and back from Queenstown. We got to spend more time in Queenstown and less in a cramped van. I’m 6’5” and larger, but the plane was still comfortable and we had a great view of the mountains and everything on both flights. No real tour guide but that was fine. The boat cruise was great but I wish they offered a cash bar to drink some beers. Oh well. The weather was perfect and overall this tour was a fantastic experience.

Incredible trip

This was the most incredible thing we did on our New Zealand trip from the UK with friends and family.
All of us were literally moved to tears by the scenery.
There were six if us, and that meant we had the small plane to ourselves, with lovely pilot Andy.
Peaceful, but amazing scenery. Snow capped mountains and lakes. Views over Queenstown, and down over stunning Milford Sound where we then had a wonderful cruise where we had dolphins swimming alongside us.
Because of staff sickness we were given the option to delay our return flight by an hour and a half, which gave us the chance to walk some of the beautiful waterside tracks
I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone.
