What To Expect

Check in for your orbing adventure at the ZORB office in Rotorua where you’ll be transferred by truck to the top of a hill. Before climbing inside the ZORB — an 11-foot-diameter (3-meter) inflatable ball — you’re given safety instructions for optimal riding.

Then step inside a smaller ball suspended within the ZORB and prepare for the ride of a lifetime as you use momentum to push the ball toward its downhill course. At the bottom of the run, the ball slows to a stop on flat turf, while ZORB staff catch it and position it so that you and up to two other riders can disembark.

Select from several options for the type of course and number of rides you want. Choose a straight track or a twisty track, with a harness or with fresh water sloshing around inside.

If you choose one of the H2OGO options, bring your swimsuit and prepare to get wet on your ride as you slip and slide. In summer, the orb is filled with cool water; during winter months, enjoy warm water and relax between rides in two on-site hot tubs.

This was SUCH a fun way to spend a few hours. My partner and I wound up upgrading after our two rides to do all four tracks, and it was WELL worth it. We didn't stop laughing for the entire two hours. Highly recommend!

Such fun - the team are great and the process is quick. ENjoy the roll down the hill! Change rooms are heated..merchandise available to buy and coffee is on hand to warm you up but the team are great!

I had fun however the dry ball ride is not as advertised. If you book it, best to go in the morning, otherwise they will cancel it once temperatures increase as the ball becomes too hot. Because of less water, you only have one option which is the straight track to supposedly help with any wind factors. They took photos but didn't outfit me with a Gopro as I expected. Arrange to take the bus, Friday is free, taxis are expensive.

So much fun! Definitely unique and awesome experience. Even though the sidewinder is longer I still enjoyed the straight line track much more. Be careful of the zipper area, it can scratch you during the sidewinder course.

The best thing we did in NZ per my teenage boys. Higher rates than Black water labyrinth tour or parasailing or the luges at the top of the gondola. Fun family activity and owner was very friendly and accommodating.

It was a lot of fun. The staff was friendly and talked us through what types of ball rides they offer. We opted to do the dry ball ride because it was rather cold outside and well, we're from Florida. Once we got into the ball and handed us a gopro camera to film the experience, they added the water in the space between the ball we were in and the outer ball. The water sloshing around during our ride made it a lot of fun. I would recommend this activity, it was awesome and the video of our experience is hilarious.
