What To Expect

This Mt Rainier day trip begins with a convenient hotel pickup in Seattle or near the SeaTac Airport. Then prepare for a narrated, scenic drive featuring Alder Lake Park and the town of Eatonville at the foothills of Mt Rainier.

Stop at Longmire, the visitor center at the southwest corner of the park, to explore their museum and National Park Inn. Visit Christine Falls, with one of the signature views in Mt Rainier National Park (look for the bridge). Then walk along the Nisqually River up to Narada Falls, considered the most popular waterfall in Mt Rainier State Park. It’s taller than Niagara Falls at 188 feet.

Then it’s off to the pinnacle event of the day: the view at Paradise, which is 5,400 feet above sea level. Purchase lunch here and take in the incredible view of Mt Rainier and the valley below. Be on the lookout for wildlife wandering around the mountain at any time.

During the wintertime, choose from an optional snowshoe or sled adventure, if conditions allow. During the summertime, simply enjoy the scene at Reflection Lake, which provides one of the most iconic views of Mt Rainier. It’s absolutely stunning. Be sure to bring a camera.

Finally, visit the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise to learn more about the history of Mt Rainier, including a brief film about it.

Then it’s back down the mountain to hit the road back to Seattle.

The seasons, weather, and elevation partially determine what you’ll see on your tour. During the weekdays, mid October-April, there are limited food services available in the National Park. Customers will have an opportunity to purchase food en route. Also, the Henry M Jackson Visitor Center located at Paradise, has limited hours during these months. On weekdays when the Visitor Center is closed, our tour will still visit Paradise if road conditions allow. No refunds will be offered unless the park is closed

Tour was very well organized. The small group experience was perfect. Spectacular scenery despite not so perfect weather. James our tour guide was excellent and very accommodating. We even had a opportunity to try snowshoes when we were in paradise. We would recommend this tour to anyone that had a free day in Seattle.

Best day trip ever!

Fantastic! One of the best experiences I've had. Don did an amazing job as a tour guide. Made the entire trip fun and gave very interesting insights into the history of the place. And luckily for us the weather was great so we got to see Mt. Rainier in it's full majestic glory! Would definitely recommend this trip and a big shout out to Don for being an awesome tour guide! We booked the Mt. Rainier Tour as we spent a couple days in Seattle before boarding for a Memorial Day cruise. The pickup time was exactly as expected and we were warmly greeted by our AMAZING tour guide Jasper. He was excellent throughout the tour, offering great insight into what Seattle is all about. During the hiking and sight seeing stops in Mt. Rainier, Jasper offered to take our picture multiple times, was patient, and understanding the entire time as we were a very large group. Jasper shared his favorite spots with us and gave us the most detailed and excellent tour referencing the importance of preservation of Seattle’s environment/nature. He even recommended the most amazing Japanese restaurant to try in Capitol Hill upon our timely return and it did not disappoint! The whole experience flew by and never felt like a drag. 100% recommend this tour and if you can ask for Jasper you won’t regret it.

This tour is worth every dollar! It was such an amazing break from the busy city of Seattle. Our tour guide Lucas was amazing too. He had so much interesting facts and entertaining stories! Not a dull moment in this tour. We were offered a choice between a hike or snowshoeing. I chose the hike and it was 1000% an amazing experience. One of my favorite hikes ever. I’d say though that the hike we did isn’t for beginners but I’m pretty sure he can gage it based on his current attendees. Our hiking group was pretty experienced, that’s why. We saw so many beautiful scenic spots, amazing views of Mt. Rainier, and wonderful viewpoints of waterfalls. We also had reallyyy good blackberry pie!!

Had a great day visiting Mt Rainier National Park. There were so many beautiful stops and our guide Don was very knowledgable and friendly. He was prepared with water for us and we got to stop at Fred Meyer's at the beginning of the day to get food/drinks for the day. Even in May I definitely would recommend hiking boots/waterproof shoes with good grip. This was definitely the way to visit Mt Rainier and I would highly recommend this tour!!

A nice pre-cruise activity

Our tour guide was Joe. We really liked the tour, it was provided by Customized Tours and Charters. This is a sightseeing tour, not a hiking tour. If your looking to hike this is not for you. This tour takes you to different sites within the park where you can take pictures and learn about the area. In the morning there was a lot of fog, but by 2pm it started to clear a little bit. Joe made sure we were able to see again the areas that were previously inmersed in fog. My son was able to see and play in the snow and thanks to Joe have his Junior Ranger badge. We went in May and layering was key as the higher we went through the mountain the more cold it got. Waterproof hiking boots were a good choice as there was still a lot of snow in Paradise. Memories were made in this trip and we will cherish it forever.

The beauty of mount rainier is outstanding. The majesty of the mountains, the power of the waterfalls along the spectacular trees made this a powerful experience! Couple that with an opportunity to snow shoe on the glacier and you’ve got the memory of a lifetime. Our guide Joe, was knowledgeable and friendly. He made the whole experience even more enjoyable. He knows the best places to get photos and is a wealth of information about wildlife and the history of the park. Joe is in the know- ask for him.

Snow shoeing on the base of Mt Rainier was the best. Jasper provided a professional friendly tour that gave insights to great pictures and information of local customs.
