The Rotorua excursion was great. Very interesting to see bubbling pools and the geysers. The show was short but good. The restaurant we went to was very nice with a variety of selections to choose from.

We really enjoyed our day with Andrew as he was friendly and welcoming We appreciated Andrew's knowledge of the tour destinations such as the Kiwi fruit plantation, the Maori village, the redwood forest and Rotorua. Natalie was our driver and guide for the day. She is very well informed and was able to talk on many topics. A fantastic day trip from a great town. we visited a Kiwi Fruit Plantation, Maori Village and Geothermals as well as the town of Rotarua. the inclusive meal in a local hotel was also outstanding. very well organised and recommended.
    Chief was amazing

Our bus driver, Buddy, was great, shared lots of info on the local area. Chief was our guide at the village and he was fabulous. Very dry humor and was more than happy to share info and provide a glimpse of his culture

Excellent trip in spite of the variable weather. Buddy was a very knowledgeable guide and really keen to make sure we enjoyed our trip and got the most out of our stops. Visit to Maori village was good and we had a couple of extra stops too which were really interesting.
    Great day.

We really enjoyed our day. Our bus driver, Buddy, was very knowledgeable and friendly and a good driver. I want to thank the tour company for their patience as we had been delayed getting to our meeting point on time. The tour of the Maori village was so informative. Our tour guide. Girly, is a Maori and her love of her culture and ancestors was apparent. The village is actually built on an active geyser area. We enjoyed corn cooked in a pool of water heated by geysers. The show demonstrating the Maori culture was interesting and fun. The only thing we wished we had known before touring the village was to bring coins to throw in the river as you cross the bridge into the village. Village children like to dive into the river to find the coins. The kiwi farm was interesting. Try the kiwi ice cream. We were returned to our cruise ship in a timely manner.
    Highly recommend

Wonderful excursion! We did so many things! I thought the village would be touristy but it was actually quite genuine. Our guide was wonderful and it was so interesting to see people living where steam was coming out of the ground. They even made us some corn on the cob in the thermal waters. We went to a kiwi farm and to a redwood forest. The variety of activities was very nice. The owner/guide really cared and was great. It was a lovely day.
    Kia Ora!

We thoroughly enjoyed our small group tour with New Zealand Discovery tours. Andrew and Peter were very informative and got us to all of our stops quickly and safely. A highlight was the Living Maori Village learning about their way of life in the geothermal valley and seeing the performance of traditional song and dance. We also enjoyed the stop at the kiwi farm and the short walk through the forest of California Redwoods. We had a nice stop for lunch away from the crowds and saw many interesting sight to and from Rotorua.
    Rotorua and vicinity

We were picked up at the port by Natalie, and joined the small bus of 10. She drove us around the area before going to a kiwi plantation and then Rotorua where we spent time at the hot springs with a local guide. After lunch, we also got to visit a redwood forest and drove around to see another natural hot springs in a local park. Natalie was very knowledgeable in spite of not being a native, and we enjoyed the day.
Fantastic day & Andrew was very informative

    Excellent Tour with Many Experiences!
    Julie_C, Oct 2019
Our guide as excellent and extremely personable. She and her husband own the company. She was very knowledgeable and took great care of the group. We saw the town, Geothermal Valley, walked through a portion of the redwood forest and the cultural experience at the living Maori Village was fantastic! A delicious lunch was served at a very nice local hotel. This trip is a must!
    Maori extravaganza
    Cliff_S, Apr 2019
Superb tour and awesome value! Tour bus driver excellent and safe. The Living Maori Village showed how the native Maoris currently live 'on the land' using geothermal energy for heating and cooking. The tour guide was great, and the performance of the Maoris was terrific. The geysers were relatively small but were constantly erupting. The lunch at a local restaurant was delicious. And the redwood forest was an unexpected, towering spectacle that capped a fabulous tour.
We're picked up at the cruise port...
    Eric_P, Mar 2018
We're picked up at the cruise port by our tour guide Andrew. From there he took us onto the highway for a beautiful scenery drive. He was doing live commentary as he drove through towns, farmlands and rolling hills. When we arrived to Maori living village, he handed us off to a local Maori guide. She welcomed us to her village liked we were her closest friends from out of town. After seeing a cultural show, we had time to walk around the thermal region for more pictures and a lunch at the village cafe. The Hangi meat pie sold at the cafe was delicious. We also visited the redwood forest and a kiwi farm with fruit and juice tastings. Andrew is friendly and knowledgeable about the Maori culture, the redwood tree and the kiwi farm. It's a small group of six traveling in a mini coach. We thought it was a well spend of time and money joining this tour.

The tour guide was outside port and ready to go. We headed out for about 1 hour or so drive to village Maori village tour was interesting. The dance thing I didn't think was a big deal or why I would make this trip. Guide very friendly and informative. The Redwoods was a basic drive by of big trees and the kiwi farm was a quick stop of looking at vines and shop. No guided tour. Nothing much to taste Our driver did stop at an ice cream store which was good ice cream! Ok but not sure I would spend money to do this again
    An excellent presentation of life...

An excellent presentation of life amidst the geysers as well as a great Maori cultural presentation.
    Mycket prisvärd upplevelse
    Christer_H, Mar 2020
