Enjoyable Shore Excursion
Sandra_Q, Feb 2023
Russell is informative and tries to accommodate when the weather is bad. A good way to spend a few hours of your time in port. The kiwi and avocado tastings were good.

Small group tour of 10, met at port gates. Well organised, informative and relaxed tour. Really enjoyed Russel’s commentary. Was tuned into guests needs and gave a detailed and entertaining history of the area. Visit to The Elms was a pleasant surprise and very interesting stop. Highly recommend the 4 hour tour. Drop off at port gated. Thanks Russel.

What could be better?
Harris_L, Mar 2020
Very nice day with a great overview of the region and its products. Stop at Covita outlet with chance to taste and buy Manuka honey, and to buy delicious Manuka honey ice cream as an appetizer for the later in the day in depth experience at a kiwi fruit orchard, with the free tasting of kiwi fruit ice cream. A two icecream day! What could be better?
Response from Host, Mar 2020
Hi Harris, Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to spend some time with yourself and Nanette when you docked in Tauranga in February. All the best, Russell
Excellent tour
Anita_G, Mar 2020
Delightful tour. Russell picked us up right at the port - couldn't be easier... He showed us around Tauranga and gave us some history of the area. We then headed to a honey facility and tasted several varieties of delicious manuka honey. The kiwi orchard was next. The vines were loaded with fruit and Russell explained the different varieties of kiwi, how the vines are cared for, and the process for growing and harvesting. All very interesting. We then sampled several kiwi products including delicious kiwi ice cream. Last up was the avocado orchard and again, a very interesting stop. Russell was friendly and engaging and the tour was quite enjoyable. Recommend.
Response from Host, Mar 2020
Hi Anita, Thank you for your lovely review. I thoroughly enjoyed hosting yourself and Perry for the day. It was a pleasure to show around the Bay of Plenty area. All the best, Russell

Russel, the tour guide, is a great, friendly guy and we all enjoyed the tour. Would highly recommend as get to know some history of the place, see some of the surrounding area and see a honey and kiwi set up.

Hi Margaret, Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to host you and your husband on this tour and I'm pleased you enjoyed the content. All the best, Russell
Very relaxing and enjoyable tour...good value.
James_A, Feb 2020
This tour was everything it was advertised to be and offered great value. Russell did a very nice job of teaching us something about the history and agriculture of the Tauranga area. We were looking for an interesting and cheaper alternative to the geothermal (we've been to Yellowstone in the USA) and Hobbiton (we're not really into the Lord of the Rings thing) options that seem to draw the largest crowds--and this tour certainly met our expectations.
Response from Host, Feb 2020
Hi Guys, Thank you for your wonderful review. I'm pleased the tour was everything you expected and I do definitely try to make it as interesting as possible. Thanks again and all the best. Regards, Russell

Nice variety, packed with info and photo ops, lovely guide (very patient with the busybody of the group... there's always one 🙄), great info about the region.
Response from Host, Dec 2019
Hi Michael, Thank you for your review. It was a fun group to have out and I enjoy having people ask lots of questions. I try and include as much variety in our local history and information about the region as I can but I also try and taylor the commentary of my tour to peoples interests as well. And it was a beautiful day too! All the best for the rest of your trip and safe travels. Russell
Excellent alternative for Cruise Ship Passengers not going to Rotorua
Marilyn_R, Dec 2019
We booked this tour as we were not going to Rotorua and wanted to see the sights in Tauranga. Russell Christian from Wicked Wanders picked us up right outside the port gates. He was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, and showed us the highlights of the area. (The Kiwifruit ice cream was incredibly yummy) The 4 hours went by quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this tour. Thanks Russell!
Response from Host, Dec 2019
Hi there, Thank you for your review and thank you for choosing to come out with me. I'm glad you liked the ice cream. Kiwifruit Country has the ice cream made especally for them by a local boutique creamery using their kiwifruit and also using A2 milk which has had the lactose removed. It makes for a beautifully creamy ice cream. Safe travels. Russell
Beautiful Day on Tauranga
Meander783344, Jan 2019
We were met at the gate as soon as we exited the ship by our guide and enjoyed a tour with only 7 others. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the day trip most enjoyable. The tour of the Manuka Honey plant was very interesting as was the visit to a kiwi farm.
