We didn’t get to experience anything as the tour company had closed down a while ago but Viator obviously do not check up on their tour operators and confirm numbers prior to the out going tours. Therefore our day was wasted all through Viator’s lack of incompetent customer service. We had out of pocket expenses due to trying to chase what was happening with our tour and Viator obviously didn’t care as they were not willing to compensate us for this.

Tour Operator never showed up despite having confirmed the tour several times prior to our arrival in Port. we called left messages … He (Andrew) never even reached out to apologize or acknowledge what he had done . AVOID this tour operator (NZ Discovery Tours)

Thoroughly enjoyed our day on this tour. Well organized and paced. The Polynesian Spa was a unique and relaxing experience, and the Maori Village was really interesting. Highly recommend this tour!

Excellent tour seeing the geothermal village and show and the visiting the spa for an hour afterwards. Natalie, the driver/guide was fantastic. She's a UK transplant and made me want to move there as well.

The visit to the Polynesian Spa was outstanding! Loved the lunch options, gave us different choices and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the visit to the Mori village and the Geyser. It was very hot, but we could find some places in the shade to stand. Van driver gave us water before our visit so that was helpful. We also really enjoyed the visit to the Kiwi farm.
There are two reasons I have the tour a lower score. We were very packed into a van for the trip. The van held 18 and there were 18 people on the van plus the driver. We were so packed into the back row that I had to sit side-ways for the entire trip. (My husband who is tall had no room and could barely fit into the seat. )
We were late leaving the port due to two people who held up our trip. we were asked to be at the van by 11:15, many people got on the van before 11. Two people didn't show up until after 11:30 or 11:40. Why we waited is beyond me. This meant most people were packed into the van for almost an hour waiting before we left.
We did enjoy the places we visited but the cramped van ride made it a difficult trip.

Sorry to hear that you wasn't completely satisfied with you tour on the day with us!
The vehicle seems to be you issue for the day along with departing for tour late?
The first point about the vehicle, The vehicle you traveled in is a 2019 Ford transit it has now covered 5000km it was newly purchased in December of 2019
This vehicle can carry 18 including the driver so if we sell tours for 17 people we use the seats that are in the vehicle, I'm not quite sure of what you mean by packed in? Do you not expect us to sell all the seats on the vehicle?
All the seats are fitted by ford when the vehicle is built and the same seating arrangement sells in every country in the world so general is made most of the population all over the world!
I can understand if your husband is a little taller than most people, so I wonder if you sat on the back row did you not have the opportunity to sit with the whole isle in front of you for legroom (10 feet long isle)
I understand that the last person to board (The one you say was late) sat in the front seat which has the largest space of all seats, so I wonder why did you not take these seats if you husband needs that little more space?
The second issue of waiting for people to arrive, You are correct you are asked to arrive 15 minutes before your tour time which was 11:30am and I thank you for doing this as if all people did this then the tour can leave on time (11:30) unfortunately not all people are as considerate as you and the last couple to arrive did arrive just 1 minute before there tour time (11:29am) at which point one of them said they needed the restroom,
Natalie your driver simply can't say no you can't go to the restroom just before driving for 60 minutes so had to allow the client to use the restroom, again you are correct this took 10 minutes)
We do ask everybody to be at the vehicle for 15 minutes before unfortunately not everyone is as considerate as you!
Once you departed this didn't effect the tour in any way and it sounds as you enjoyed the day which is all we want you to do.
I hope the rest of your journey was enjoyable also.
