What To Expect

Exchange your voucher and find your seat on the top or bottom deck; seats are first come, first served.

As you take off through the Washington DC landscape, lit up for the night, listen to live commentary in English or recorded commentary in Spanish, German, Italian, French, Mandarin, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese. Pass landmarks and highlights such as the Capitol Building, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the White House, and others.

End your tour back where you started after 2 hours.

This was the highlight of our time in Washington DC. The driver was kind and patient. I overheard complaints that we returned later than scheduled but I saw no reason for those comments and would definitely dismiss them if you get remarks from that couple. It was such a joy seeing the beautiful city of DC all lit up.

I took my 9 year old daughter with me on the Big Bus tour! We went on the night tour and it was spectacular. Danny greeted us and we waited to start the tour! I also loved our great driver, Gail. She was very nice and explained everything to us! This is a great way to see DC!

Prerecorded tour did not GPS synch with most of the tour route. Back row seats stank of diesel exhaust in standing traffic. Not worth $175 for 3 people. I'd find another operator for night tour.

Non-existent Customer Service

Don’t expect any customer service or flexibility if you need it. I had reservations for a group of four for an evening tour. First, the tour begin time was unclear, with two different times given in the confirmation. I tried to reach the tour operator two days before the tour. Nobody answered the phone or responded to the chat that the phone recording said to use. I did receive an email from Viator asking if my inquiry had been responded to; I indicated it had not. I still never got the information I needed. Then, our arrival to the city by train was delayed for nearly four hours due to some issue at Union Station. There was no way we could go to our hotel, drop our luggage, and make it to the tour pick up point for even the later of the times I had been given. I tried contacting the operator again to try to change to another date/time but, not surprisingly, received no response. Rather than make my group who is visiting from the UK miss their opportunity to see the sights of DC, I took our luggage to the hotel while they went on the tour. THEY enjoyed the tour, but I wasted around $90.
